I've noticed lately on my scenic and not-so-scenic drives to venue walk-throughs and client meetings that there's a slight golden hue to the world around me. That time of year I had been waiting on for weeks has finally arrived and the slight crispness in the day and downright chilliness at night is both refreshing and endearing.
Now that my favorite season is here in all it's brilliant glory, I wanted to create a styled shoot in an elegant setting but with a fun, bohemian vibe. Pops of gold and brass, rich bordeaux and a wild yet centered floral arrangement with tapered candles to provide a touch of romance.
I wanted pumpkins as a nod to fall, but nothing too literal. So they sat happily on the seating bench welcoming guests to sit, sip some wine and stay a while.
We shot everything outside, because dining al fresco is one of my favorite things and particularly enjoyable in the fall. Although my initial inspiration was a bohemian, fall wedding, I'm tempted even more now to have a beautiful dinner party as the setting sun gives way to the autumn moon with the crunch of leaves beneath my feet.
