Entertaining At Home - Dinner Club - Halloween

 birds are creepy

The whole thing came about because I was out getting tacos and margs with Kir of Cece of PostSkriptCo and Kir of Kir2Ben in Arlingotn and we started talking about Halloween plans.

All three of us are Halloween lovers so it only seemed natural that we get together on the spookiest day of the year, drink wine, eat candy, do scary makeup and scare kids while wathing scary movies. But spookiness loves company so I HAD to invite some other girlfriends. We turned it into a pizza party and set a scary table and I ended up making everyone watch "The Exorcism of Jane Doe". Cece did our makeup, we dressed up like super creeps and had way too much fun.

This is Brett as a bottle of champagne! She made her own costume and it was perfect!!!

Krysta didn't dress up. So I'm here to call her out even though she looked cute. Halloween isn't about CUTE Krystsa, it's about fun and spooky and not looking like a super chic fall fashionista.

Before and After. We creep up real nice. Makeup by Cece of PostSkript

I wanted to decorate the table in a spooky, yet pretty way. A la Martha Stewarts halloween special every year.  I started with a base of black runners and grey gauze running perpendicular across the table, black chargers and a few spooky friends. I did a little bit of Halloween on the front porch and throughout the house but the dining room was the shining star of the creeptacular spookfest.

I also took some fallen branches from outside and spray painted them black and covered them in cobwebs to add some height in addition to draping our chandelier in black netting to both make the space darker and spookier and draw the eye upwards.

The cool thing about my job is occasionally I get "stuck" with leftover centerpieces from weddings. When there are just a handful left over I'm thrilled to take them home and repurpose them and this dinner was the perfect reason to re-purpose Kelley and Jeffs beautiful arrangements from Beaumont House! Stick a few black candles, obligatory skulls and pumpkins in there and the table is complete!

Me and my spooky witches, being as creepy as possible and with Amanda being adorable because she knows no other way.
